INDIANAPOLIS – Greenwood-based Jeff Air Pilot Services is partnering with Indiana Wesleyan University to offer what they describe as affordable flight school training. The partners say the effort will help combat the ongoing pilot shortage.

Through the partnership, students looking for a career in aviation can earn either an Associate of Science with a Professional Pilot major or a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management from IWU while completing their flight school training at a Jeff Air location.

“Our partnership provides hands-on, real-world training in professional flight education,” David Jeffries, owner of Jeff Air Pilot Services said. “A career in aviation offers a lot of opportunity and success, and we’re trying to make it more obtainable for aspiring pilots by driving down the costs where possible, providing the quality, safe training they need and helping them get started on the path they want to go.”

Jeff Air says students will complete their flight training early in the program, enabling them to begin working in the field as flight instructors as they complete the online courses. This jump start ensures they can begin earning money while finishing their program, as well as gain even more experience to enhance their future job prospects.

“We’re very excited about this partnership and the benefits it will provide prospective pilots,” Jeffries said. “Some individuals can be apprehensive because flight programs are thought to be very expensive. With IWU, students will be able to utilize financial aid to cover some or all of the costs of the flight program, while we offer clear, upfront and all-inclusive flight training fees, along with financing options, which makes these programs a fantastic, affordable option.”
