Private-Pilot-License

Imagine staring into the bright sunset. Enthralling shades of pinks, oranges and reds are swirling between the clouds, creating a canvas of color for the world to enjoy.

Now imagine that you’re in it.

You don’t have to fly a commercial airline – such as Delta or Southwest – to be a pilot. You can obtain your own Private Pilot License (PPL) to help you see what the world looks like from above. How much a PPL costs may be a concern, but ultimately whether you are crossing an item off of your bucket list, or enhancing your professional career, this investment is worth it.

What goes into a Private Pilot License (PPL)?

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requires a minimum of 40 flight hours to obtain your license. To begin this process, you need to pass some basic coursework. Subjects covered here include aerodynamics, FAA regulations, incident reporting and more. During this stage, you will also need to invest in textbooks, testing (both written and practical) and at least a Third-Class Medical Certification. This qualification is specifically designed to ensure that fundamental first-aid tactics are well understood during student, recreational and other private pilot trainings.

Why get a PPL?

Learning how to fly is a worthwhile investment for many individuals. Recreationally, you may want to find a new hobby that helps you experience the thrill of everything life has to offer. On a more professional note, you may be looking for a new job or another source of income. With a more career-focused training from Jeff Air Pilot Services, you will be able to teach and coach others wanting to obtain a PPL.

How much are flying lessons?

The value of being able to fly through the sky is immeasurable. Feeling the rush of adrenaline when you take off is something that has an endless reward. With that in mind, there is some basic spending that accompanies a PPL. Between coursework, aircraft rental and instructor fees, one can expect to spend between $8,500 and $10,500 on a PPL. The price can range based off of additional flight time needed to reach proficiency.

But trust us, it’s worth it.
