There are no words to describe the beauty of watching the world from above. Whether you’re looking to pick up a new hobby, cross something off your bucket list, or experience a new thrill by soaring through the skies, Jeff Air Pilot Services can help you choose programs that fit your budget, needs, and desires, allowing you to start flying at your own pace.
From recreational flying lessons to private pilot flight training, we offer a variety of options to suit any aspiring pilot.
Programs
If you’re interested in flying for fun, our recreational pilot training is the perfect choice. This program is designed for those who want to experience the joy of flying without pursuing a full private pilot certificate. With recreational flying lessons, you’ll learn the fundamentals of flying in good weather, including takeoffs and landings, basic navigation, and communication with air traffic control.
To earn your recreational pilot certification, you must complete a minimum of 30 hours of flight time, which includes both dual instruction and solo flights. You’ll also need to pass the FAA’s written knowledge test and meet the recreational pilot certificate requirements, such as holding a 3rd class medical certificate issued by an aviation medical examiner (AME).
Our experienced instructors will guide you through each step of the process, ensuring that you meet the FAA’s safety standards while enjoying the thrill of recreational flying.
Discovery Flight
Our 30-minute introductory flight and lesson is the best way to experience the thrill of flying. It’s a perfect introduction for those interested in a recreational pilot license or simply testing the waters. You’ll get hands-on experience with basic flight maneuvers, takeoffs, and landings. Whether you're seeking to learn how to fly for recreational purposes or dreaming of solo flights, this is your first step.
1-3 people can fly with one of our certified flight instructors.
Limit one Discovery Flight per person.
Experience the thrill of flight with our Discovery Flight. It’s the ideal way to gauge whether recreational pilot training is right for you, whether you're a beginner or looking for a new way to enjoy the skies.
Private Pilot Ground School
Ground school is the first step to make earning your pilot’s license a reality. You’ll learn about aerodynamics, FAA regulations, incident reporting and more to get you ready to earn your recreational pilot license and give you the knowledge you need for safe, responsible flying.
Light Sport License
Jeff Air can conduct training for the Light Sport License in owner aircraft only. If you own an aircraft and are ready to take flight, we can provide the specialized instruction needed for this certification. This is an excellent option for those interested in recreational flying, offering a more affordable and accessible entry into aviation.
PART 107
In addition to traditional flight training, Jeff Air Pilot Services can administer Part 107 written part of the PSI Test for unmanned aircraft systems at our Greenwood location. This is a great option for those who want to enter the world of commercial drone operations or are looking to expand their skills.
