Step 1

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requires any future pilots to be at least 17 years old when obtaining a license. Critical pieces to begin are applying for a student pilot certificate, and acquiring, at minimum, a current 3rd Class FAA-issued medical certificate. You can use the FAA’s website to find a qualified aviation medical examiners in your area or ask for recommendations.

Step 2

With flight schools stationed everywhere, you need to research the best training program for your learning style and schedule. Jeff Air Pilot Services provides flexible flight school training that’s affordable and fun. If desired, we have a collegiate program available through Indiana Wesleyan National & Global.

Complete Your Courses

Step 3

If choosing a collegiate path, you will need to complete your general courses online while working through your flight school training at one of our four locations.

Pass Your Written Test

Step 4

Unlike other flight schools, Jeff Air’s students have the opportunity to take their written test whenever they’re ready. When you pass your written test ahead of schedule, you can work while finishing flight school or spend more time in the sky.

Step 5

From basic maneuvers to more advanced skills, you will need to complete a specific number of hours of in-flight training. Through Jeff Air’s collegiate partnership, students can finish flight school training according to their own designated schedule and learn from an instructor.

Step 6

Once you have the required experience, you need to pass the FAA practical exam, or checkride. Checkrides are given by designated FAA examiners are made up of a verbal exam and flight test. Upon successful completion, the examiner will help you fill out your license paperwork online so you can officially take flight!

Our instructors will work around your schedule to develop an effective training program that exceeds your expectations and helps you reach your goals.

If you are interested in a collegiate program, our partnership with Indiana Wesleyan National & Global was uniquely designed with convenience in mind. Students will complete their IWU degree online while tackling flight training at one of Jeff Air’s four locations. The process may seem daunting, but students can complete the necessary training in as little as three months to streamline their career goals.
